We are youth workers from Argentina and we would like to present our idea of building capacitation program for youth regarding green jobs.
2- Team: who the team members are and their roles
Martina works in an NGO assessing municipalities in climate change and environmental projects, Lucia and Francisco work in 2 different municipalities that are part of the NGO’s network. We are not only the builders of this idea but also part of the customers segment.
3- Problem: what problem or business opportunities you are addressing
As youth workers developing ourselves in the field we know for sure that not only local governments but also the private sector are in need of experts in green jobs. They need to adjust their technics and methods to this new perspective of the world, a sustainable world.
4- Solution: your solution to the problem or business opportunity
The aim of the startup is to create a platform that englobes all courses related to the topic that are being dictated in our country nowadays and to create alliances between Universities and Institutes which provides the courses and municipalities that are interested in improving their youth knowledge and skills regarding green jobs.
5- Product: how your product or service works
We create a database with all the available courses in the country, and create alliances with universities and institutes that provides them. After that, we offer municipalities the opportunity to work together with us in promoting this empowerment program to local youth. Municipalities pay the NGO to have access to all the courses and select which of them they want to have in their cities, and then students pay a fee to be capacitated.
6- Market: the size of your target market and any research
Regarding students, our target will be youth from 18-35 years old. Also, municipalities which are part of our network will be our main target. Last but not least, the private sector such as industries, local business, institutes and universities, and other enterprises from the productive sector.
7- Competition: alternatives to your solution that are already on the market
As we said before, most of the courses already exists on the market but what does not exist is a platform that include all of them.
8- Your business model: how you plan to make money on the long term
This startup will definitely succeed and become profitable in the long term due to the fact that green jobs are the future, the market is changing and so is the productive sector. Environmental awareness is growing and with it also will the number of students that prefer this career over regular ones.
9- Resources needed: the money and other resources you need in order to grow
In order to develop the startup we need money to star creating the database and to connect with universities and institutes besides municipalities.
10- Contact: how people can contact you
At first we will promote our project in the NGO’s website and weekly newsletter which are sent to municipality’s workers. Secondly, we will create a website of our own and also make difusion through social media, radio and tv programs such us news programs.
Finally, we will promote it in every NGO’s events.
