Bucharest – 6.05.2019 – 18 youth workers from 6 nonprofit organization from Uruguay, Argentina, Peru, Bulgaria, Italy and Romania participated in a training course on the topic entrepreneurship education to discover how to design tools and learning environments for young people. The 9 days training course is coordinated by DGT Association and is part of the long-term project Start-up Explorers, co-funded through Erasmus+ Programme.
Between 4-12 May 2019, representatives of 6 youth organizations participate in Vatra Dornei in an entrepreneurial education training course who has as main objective testing non-formal education methods that develop the professional skills of young people: creativity and innovation, spirit teamwork, communication and feedback, stress and time management, strategic planning and thinking. These non-formal education methods will be the starting point of a toolkit of methods for youth workers and other educators interested in developing entrepreneurial education programs in local communities.
Start-up explorers is a project initiated by six non-profit organizations from South America and Europe that encourages the development of a network of specialists in entrepreneurship education and the development of a concrete working tool that can be a support for them and for other educators in their communities - a board game. At the same time, the three learning contexts – 1 training course (Romania) and 2 seminars (Uruguay and Argentina) allow us to exchange good practices in the field of entrepreneurship education and to know better the entrepreneurial system in South America in order to develop customized strategies at the level of youth organizations.
The training course is the first phase of the project and will continue with two other international seminars. The next capacity building meeting will be held in Uruguay (September 2019) where the same youth workers discover the process of creating a social start-up, from idea to prototyping and presentation. The last seminar will be implemented in Argentina in November 2019. Based on previously acquired knowledge, the participants will, under the guidance of a board game specialist, develop an entrepreneurial education game. This game to be translated in 5 international languages will be later tested with teachers, youth workers and youth in the communities where the partner organizations of the project are active.
The training course aims to raise awareness about the diversified role of the youth workers, especially in entrepreneurial education programs, and to bring into discussion the opportunities for learning, mentoring, career guidance and funding for young people.
